There are a number of reasons why your trash might have been missed. It may have been inaccessible at the predetermined pickup time, weather conditions may have prevented the drivers from accessing it, or there may have been other unforeseen obstacles. In order to find the cause, please call our office and we will be able to find a solution to collecting your trash on your next pick up day.

Please note that winter is very difficult in our area! Cans and containers need to be well maintained and removed of snow all the way around them. Missed pickups due to snow can occur, contact our office for options if your trash was missed.

In order to ensure that your garbage is collected, please have your trash can out by 5:00am on your pickup day. Our routes begin at 5:00am, and though there are times when our drivers may consistently service your area at a certain time, there are different reasons throughout the year that will interfere with their routines and they need to have the flexibility to service your area when it works best for them.

If you forget to put your can out, you are welcome to put out extras on your next pickup day and they will be charged at the rate of extras that is appropriate to your service. We cannot adjust invoices after the fact, as our drivers need to be compensated for their time in attempting to collect your trash. However, if you know prior to your pickup day that you will be unable to put your trash out, you can contact our office and let us know you will not need a pickup that day. We will then let our guys know they don’t need to pick up your trash and we will adjust your invoice.

You can pay your bill with check, cash, or card. We don’t offer an online payment option, but you can pay with card or ACH over the phone, mail in a check, pay in person with cash, or sign up for automatic payments. For more information, give us a call and we can find an option that works for you.

We’re more than happy to pick up extras in the form of bags, boxes, cans, or even some larger household items. We will simply bill you accordingly–no hassle. We just ask that you call our office and let us know if you’ll have extras exceeding a couple bags, and make sure we can haul the larger items in our trucks.

Safe items to throw away include: household items, as long as they are non-hazardous, yard waste, and other non-hazardous items. Hazardous items (along with some non-hazardous items) that can’t be thrown away include: liquid paint, mercury lightbulbs, engine oil, small engine batteries, needles, asbestos, rocks, dirt, bricks, and concrete. If you have any questions regarding your trash contents, please don’t hesitate to call; if it’s not something we can take, we may be able to help you find a safe way to dispose of it.

There are currently no recycle programs offered in our area.

Let us know if any receptacle provided by Excess Disposal is damaged or missing parts and we will fix or replace it so that your service isn’t affected and the receptacle doesn’t sustain further damage. Please avoid moving any dumpsters on your own, any damage sustained from customer use could be charged to your account.

If you have a can or a cart, they need to be within two feet of the appropriate road; they must be visible, and not obscured by vehicles, trees, or any other objects.

If you have a container, or dumpster, it has already been placed where it needs to be by our drivers and should remain in that place. In some cases the container may work in other areas, however, if the container is moved without their knowledge, it may prevent them from being able to dump it.

For cans or carts, we recommend keeping them stored away–either out of sight, or right by your house–when it is not your pickup day. This usually discourages people from using your can, whereas keeping it out by the road constantly may result in any passerby utilizing your trash service.

To prevent people from using your containers, we can provide a chain to keep the lids closed. There is no charge for the chain, but you will have to provide your own lock; which you can either unlock prior to each pickup, or we can unlock it for you for the standard rate.

If you don’t need service for a short period of time, contact our office and we can put your service on hold until your are ready to resume. However, if you want to put your account on an extended hold–and you have an Excess container, or cart–we will need to pull your trash receptacle so that it is not left unattended during that time.
